The introduction to the HB-10 Tormek Handbook looks at: The difference between grinding and sharpening, edge angle and bevel angle, dry grinding and wet grinding, vertical and horizontal sharpening machines, concave bevel, sharpening direction and sharpening pressure, honing and polishing, and different techniques for tools with complex shapes. This first part gives you a general understanding of sharpening and the factors that affect the results.
The main part of the book provides instructions for each Tormek jig and accessory, along with useful tips on maintenance and use. If you know which jig you want to have a closer look at, keep an eye out for the product index on the last page – it’s a shortcut that will save you time. If you don’t know which jig to use, you can quickly find the right jig for your specific tool in another smart index.
The HB-10 Tormek Handbook contains more than 600 detailed drawings showing step-by-step instructions on how to sharpen various tools using the unique Tormek method. This handbook is included with every water-cooled sharpening machine and is also available for download when you register your machine. You can also buy it separately from your retailer.

Longer universal support for longer and higher tools
The US-430 Extended Universal Support is designed for sharpening long or tall tools, such as long knives, meat cleavers and machetes. Like our other universal supports, it has a Micro Adjust scale for precision setting of the sharpening angle.
Get a flat bevel, or convert horizontal mounts to vertical
The MB-102 Multi Base allows you to sharpen on the side of Tormek’s diamond grinding wheels. This results in a completely flat bevel, which is preferable in certain applications. The MB-102 Multi Base is fully adjustable for optimal settings for each tool and jig. It also converts the horizontal mounts to vertical, for easier access when sharpening knives edge trailing, and for guided honing using knife jigs (so-called Frontal Vertical Base or FVB).
Keeps your grindstone round and flat
If your grindstone has worn and become uneven, this can be easily fixed with the TT-50 Truing Tool. It makes your stone round and flat again, with maximum precision. The tool’s diamond tip removes the very top layer of the grindstone at the points where there’s too much material. The TT-50 Truing Tool fits all Tormek machines with a universal support, and works on all grinding wheels except for the diamond grinding wheels.
