This gives you the best of both worlds – you don’t remove more material from the blade than you have to, and the sharpening process is fast and straightforward. When you’re done sharpening, deburr add the final touch to your knives on the PW-160 Conical Composite Honing Wheel.
The DF-150 Conical Diamond Wheel Fine keeps going for a thousand plus sharpenings. It’s hard to give a more precise answer, because it depends on how you use it. The vast majority of households are able to sharpen their knives for a lifetime or longer.
The surface of the grinding wheel will become finer and finer over time. If you ever want to get a brand new grinding wheel again, we recommend keeping the previous one for those times when you want a really fine finish.
