The SVD-110 Tool Rest also works perfectly with special woodcarving tools such as hollowing tools and curved drawing knives. You can also use it for card scrapers and cutting blades for woodturning tools, spokeshave and flat-head screwdrivers.

Scrapers often have a fairly large angle, which can make sharpening hard to control. That’s why the SVD-110 Tool Rest has a generous 90×110 mm (3 1/2″ × 4 3/8″) surface area, allowing you to hold the tool firmly and securely against the grinding wheel. The hole where you attach the tool rest has a special wedge shape which increases the locking force by as much as 250% compared to a round hole. You can lock the tool rest instantly at the selected angle.
The SVD-110 Tool Rest can be used both with and against the direction of rotation of the grinding wheel. It can also be positioned so that you can use the flat side of the grinding wheel when sharpening card scrapers, for example. Many hard-to-sharpen tools that don’t fit in any other jig or have unusual sharpening angles can be sharpened using the SVD-110 Tool Rest, in a number of other positions with a little creativity.

Symmetrical result on flexible knives
This well-balanced, patented jig provides extra stability when sharpening knives with long, flexible blades such as filleting knives. With the KJ-140 Wide Centering Knife Jig, you achieve symmetrical sharpening with the same angle on both sides of the blade. Regardless of the thickness and geometry of the blade, it will self-center in the jig, giving you the same result on both bevels. The longer clamp stabilizes flexible knife blades to prevent them from flexing, so that you get the same angle and pressure over the entire bevel.
